Sarah Castro & Blue Mongeon of Belcurve: Belcurve is the melding of Sarah Castro’s unique brand of lyrics, vocal range, and melodies with Matt Parmenter’s lifelong mission to wring the strangest sounds out of even stranger gear and studio toys. This is glued together by Michael Peters’ rhythms, which range from restrained and soft to all out muscular assaults. Deidre Gott adds a layer of clear, resonant harmonies and sonic landscapes, and Blue Mongeon’s versatile guitar work adds sweetness, power, and depth. Alternating seamlessly between catchy pop tunes and haunting melodic rock, Belcurve is a slightly bent framework of talented human beings creating songs that will you make you feel at once pleasant, strange, and feisty.
"Sweet melodic rock led by the ever-beguiling vocals of Sarah Castro." -Laurie Gallardo, KUTX 98.9. // www.belcurvemusic.com //@belcurve
Mary Beth: Mary Beth was born to classical pianists, grew up playing cello in orchestras, then joined a screamo band in college which eventually led her to touring the US and Europe in the Austin-based folk punk band, East Cameron Folkcore. Currently recording her second album, Mary Beth's songs are emotional, funny, and lyrics-driven. Her intricate guitar-playing and sweeping melodies create "a landscape to live in" and her songwriting - reflecting her degrees in writing and library science - "listen like a book you are reading" (Caro Somes, 2017). // marybethw.bandcamp.com // @maryandthebeths
